How agile and flexible working at McCarthy Denning helps both clients and lawyers

Our Chairman and Co-founder Richard Beresford was quoted in a recent article for The Law Society Gazette. Entitled “Promotion-hungry lawyers ‘desperate for work-life balance”, the article considered a recent report by a recruitment company.

The article concluded that although lawyers have a higher expectation of rapid promotion (compared to other professions), two thirds would take a pay cut to work in a ‘better cultural fit’.

Richard commented on how lawyers at McCarthy Denning are remunerated solely on the basis of billable hours. In addition, they are able to work when, how and where they like. He continued:

‘It works well for both men and women but is a godsend for lawyers who want to juggle child care and a return to City law… Clients love it as it allows us to operate on vastly reduced overheads – the benefit of which is shared between lawyers in the form of greatly increased remuneration and clients in the form of value for money.’
