Yitzchak Unterman
Senior Consultant
Yitzchak has a unique combination of substantial experience as a senior lawyer in both corporate tax (including M&A and financings) and international private wealth (providing advice on tax, trusts and related areas).
He qualified at Clifford Chance in London and was with the corporate tax department at Clifford Chance for more than 10 years, taking time off every so often for lifestyle reasons, and was then a consultant (mostly remotely) to other leading law firms, including elite US firm Gibson Dunn & Crutcher. During this period, Yitzchak focussed on cross border and domestic transactions.
He then switched to working with international ultra-high net worth individuals and families, gaining experience with two of London’s tier 1 private wealth legal teams.
To leverage the breadth of his experience, Yitzchak subsequently ran a boutique advisory firm catering to international families and their businesses, providing both business and personal tax advice and also acting as a general counsel and fiduciary (trustee, protector).
He joined McCarthy Denning in November 2022 to refocus on corporate tax whilst continuing to advise on private wealth matters too.
Yitzchak has worked with jurisdictions in all continents (except Antarctica), including many offshore jurisdictions. Yitzchak is a full member of STEP.
