Safiye is a successful litigation partner with 15 years’ dispute resolution experience. A strong collaborator and communicator with a practical no-nonsense approach, working energetically for the client’s best outcome.
Safiye joined McCarthy Denning in 2018 as part of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution team. Called to the Bar in 2004 Safiye is well versed in steering cases through the court system. Her current practice is focused on high value multi-party commercial disputes in the High Court but she has experience in a range of dispute resolution procedures including mediation and arbitration.
Safiye also has extensive experience in bringing urgent applications for interim orders and injunctions. Safiye has significant bodies of work in specialised real estate and trust disputes, as well as Judicial Review actions.
She has experience in exploring and tailoring the range of options available to the client to resolve their disputes to identify the one which makes the most commercial sense.
Safiye has an extra-legal background in ESG work, volunteering for the anti-apartheid movement and then environmental organisations throughout her educational years and graduating into a bio-diversity NGO working on projects from indigenous Amazonian autonomy to dialogues on genetic modification in the EU. Safiye also worked as operations officer for a recycling company in Brighton. Safiye was an SME business mentor in London for London Sustainability Xchange and Ambassador for Global Action Plan as part of the Low Carbon Zone initiative.

Safiye was admitted to the Roll in 2007 and prior to joining McCarthy Denning was an Associate Solicitor at Osbornes LLP and Singled out for praise’ in the Legal 500 2014 before going on a career break.
