Jon is an insolvency and restructuring lawyer. He specialises in the financial services sector particularly in the insurance industry. Jon works with a range of parties involved in the restructuring sector from investors, creditors, banks and insolvency practitioners to directors and corporates who are experiencing financial difficulty. His clients say he has a pragmatic and commercial approach to the advice he gives. Jon has a clear view on the outcome that a client wishes to achieve and works hard to assist the clients to get to that outcome. Jon has a wide range of contacts with both insolvency practitioners and other lawyers in the business. He frequently acts in conflict situations having been brought in by other law firms and by insolvency practitioners.
Jon has been head of finance at a Cooley and has served on the board of two city firms. Jon is a member of R3, the ILA and INSOL.

- Advising substantial creditors of Beaufort Asset Clearing Services Limited (in special administration) and acting as an ad hoc member of the creditors committee.
- Advising the administrators and special administrators of certain companies in the Solo group in relation to a large claim from a European state.
- Acting as conflict counsel to PwC as administrators of Lehman Bros International (Europe) Ltd.
- Advising the Minster Insurance group of companies in relation to the largest scheme of arrangement successfully concluded to date in the UK insurance market.
