Jennifer Pierce

Jenny is a commercial lawyer, specialising in IP, with over 25 years of experience in the field.  She advises on all rights with an emphasis on strategy and transactions.  Before she joined us, Jenny was at Charles Russell Speechlys and Charles Russell for almost 23 years, for most of which she was as a partner.

She is best known for her skill in monetising intellectual property, combining technical legal skills with a knowledge of the licensing business and international practice.  She has been nominated as a licensing expert by Intellectual Asset Management each year since the directory first appeared as the select IAM 250.

Highlights

• Strategy and documentation for international licensing of rights protecting premium DVD cases for part of the MeadWestvaco group over long period, including work with Latin American licensing laws
• Unchallenged expert evidence on difficult issues of licensing law for international arbitration arising from insolvency of well-known chip maker.
• Acting for listed UK IP licensing company in transaction with US oil major in circumstances where she arranged for the acquisition by the client of some of the IP from a third party as a goodwill gesture whilst the transaction was ongoing and then saw the client’s share price rise considerably following the issue of the RNS
