WHAT WE SAY ABOUT GABRIELLA
Gabriella is an experienced shipping lawyer, and holds a LLM in Shipping Law from the University of Southampton and a LLB in Law from the Law School of the University of Athens, Greece.
Before joining McCarthy Denning, Gabriella spent most of her career as in-house legal counsel in large ship owning/ship management companies both in Greece and in London. She has experience with a shipping law firm in the City of London as a Lawyer, and was also responsible for leading the firm’s business development.
Gabriella has huge experience predominantly in dry shipping matters, as well as touching on wet shipping. Her experience includes Sale & Purchase and ships’ closings (giving her the opportunity to travel in Europe and in Asia), international conventions, ship finance, ship buildings, charterparties, ship/crew management agreements, claims on Hull Machinery, (H&M), marine insurance, crew and cargo, (P&I, FDD) Piracy, corporate, but dealt also with legal issues of commercial and operational matters as they arose on a daily basis.
Her experience also includes attendance at legal committee meetings of the International Maritime Organisation of the United Nations in London (IMO) as part of the Cyprus representation team.

Gabriella is fluent in Greek, English and also speaks conversational Italian. She is dual qualified as a lawyer in Cyprus and Greece, a member of the Bar Association of Piraeus and registered in the UK with the Solicitors Regulation Authority(SRA).
Having worked with people from all over the world and from culturally diverse backgrounds due to the international character of the shipping industry, Gabriella has gained excellent communication skills which helps achieve the intended results.
Gabriella is also a member of the Propeller Club and the Hellenic Engineers Society of Great Britain.
